Costumed characters celebrate at the First Annual NICU Reunion at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital.

In the Halloween spirit, over 100 costumed children and their families celebrated the first annual Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) reunion at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital in October. Methodist Stoke Oak Hospital opened in March 2009, making the oldest NICU patient only seven years old.

A former NICU patient gives a high five to a NICU employee.

The reunion was a joyous occasion that gave the children and their families the opportunity to celebrate and thank the nurses and physicians at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital that in most cases, had saved their lives.

This family-oriented reunion was a wonderful celebration of life of these little ones born prematurely or with medical complications. Methodist Stone Oak Hospital has a Level IIIa NICU, capable of caring for the smallest and sickest of newborn babies.
