Johnathan Pressler, son of Glenn & Jeri Pressler, celebrated the rank of Eagle Scout on Oct 25th, 2015. The award given by Boy Scouts of America is the highest rank advancement and is earned by less than 5% of all Boy Scouts. In addition to many other requirements, the Scout must plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, school, or his community.
For his Eagle Project, Johnathan chose to make a 10×12 building for the Mill Springs Cabin area at Bradley Middle School for storing props. Johnathan led 22 volunteers in the construction of the building which took 298 total man hours. Johnathan is a member of Troop 511, sponsored by San Pedro Presbyterian Church. While a Boy Scout, Johnathan attended National Youth Leadership Training, the 2013 National Scout Jamboree where he served as the Historian, and twice attended the BSA high adventure Seabase scuba diving program. He also held numerous leadership positions within his troop including Senior Patrol Leader and Troop Guide.
Johnathan has earned 43 merit badges and is a student at Churchill High School where he is a member of the swim team and National Honor Society.
