Girl Scouts Go Camping

Learn To Camp Like A Girl

Submitted By Risa Weinberger

It’s that time of year again, not just the beginning of a new school year or high school football season…it’s time to get together as Girl Scouts.

Community ‘U’ (78258/78260) is kicking off the 2017-18 school year with a family day at the park so everyone can “learn to camp like a girl.” Girls Scouts, their family members, and potential new Girl Scouts and their families are invited to learn the “Girl Scout” way, from starting a fire, setting up a tent, tying knots, making SWAPS (small tokens of friendships to exchange with other scouts), and enjoying other camping activities (including enjoying some delicious s’mores). Registration for new members and adult volunteers (all parents) will also be available at this event.

Put on your bug spray and sun screen and join the outdoor fun on Saturday, October 14, 2:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. at Bullis County Park located at 27583 Old Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78260. The cost is $5 per family to register. Register your family through your troop or by contacting by Monday, October 9.
