Spring Branch Middle School has an exceptional theatre department filled with bright and creative students led by an incredible teacher, Ms. Maddox. With Ms. Maddox’s leadership, the department has collected many awards for their amazing performances. She encourages her students’ passion for performance. If you have a love for the arts, SBMS has something just for you! Join in for some fun at the monthly T.A.P.S. (Theatre Arts Performing Students) program.
T.A.P.S. is a fantastic program open to anyone who attends SBMS and offers a great opportunity to meet new people, have a good time and expand theatre experience. There is something for everyone, from the advanced theatre student to the inexperienced, but curious, thespian. At each meeting, a different activity will be featured to inspire and foster a love for theatre. Don’t miss out on the chance to be a part of this dynamic group. T.A.P.S. meets monthly after school.
Not only does T.A.P.S. offer a free safe place to explore the arts, the group also feels strongly about giving back. Every year, T.A.P.S. organizes a community service project called “Trick-or-Treat So Kids Can Eat.” The group goes door-to-door collecting donations from the community to benefit needy children. Last year, T.A.P.S. provided immense help by collecting 200 pounds of food to be distributed! To keep up this tradition of success, a lot of help is needed! Join the theatre department in making a difference. Just like the monthly meetings, the community service project is open to anyone who attends SBMS. It’s a great way to give back while having fun with your friends and opening yourself up to new experiences. Don’t miss out on this awesome event and the chance to be a part of the Spring Branch theatre community.
