Lopez Science Whizzes Shine

Lopez Middle School has a couple of science whizzes on their hands – Natania Olsen and Kate Olson. Both girls competed in the Alamo Junior Academy of Science on January 28 and the Alamo Regional Science and Engineering Fair on February 24.

Kate received the highest award in the category of Behavioral and Social Sciences for her project on determining the most visible color for crossing guard vests at the Alamo Junior Academy of Science. She also received a Director’s Award at the Alamo Regional Science and Engineer Fair. Natania also excelled, receiving 4th Grand Prize for her project, “Extrasolar Planets: What’s Out There” at the Alamo Junior Academy of Science. She then received 5th Prize at the Alamo Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
