Brandeis Cheer Makes School History

The Brandeis High School competition cheer team placed first at this year’s National Championships in Dallas.

For the first time in Brandeis High School history, the Bronco competition cheer team won National Champions by placing first, above five other teams, for the Intermediate Open Division at the National Cheerleaders Association High School competition in Dallas, Texas January 21-22.

“Hearing our name as National Champs was so surreal and absolutely overwhelming,” sophomore Medea Romero said about the cheer team’s NCA title win.

Brandeis AFJROTC Gives Back

Cadets from Brandeis High School Air Force Junior ROTC placed wreaths on the graves of our fallen service members at Fort Sam Houston this holiday season as a part of the Wreaths Across America initiative.

The first semester of Air Force Junior ROTC at Brandeis High School was a huge success! The organization accomplished many of its goals set at the beginning of the school year.

AFJROTC started the year off with their annual food drive, collecting over 5,200 pounds of food in three weeks, and the Living Through Giving Winter Celebration annual toy drive, collecting over 650 toys. As a result of the group’s efforts, they were awarded a $250 and $500 check, respectively, for collecting the most food and toys within Northside Independent School District. It certainly does pay to give!

Scholarship Opportunity Available

Assistance League® of San Antonio 2016 scholarship recipients.

Assistance League® of San Antonio, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all volunteer organization, is accepting applications for its 2017 Scholarship Program, which serves the educational needs of higher education students. Full-time junior and senior college students enrolled at local colleges and universities are eligible to apply.

Applications are available at the school’s financial aid office or online at www.assistanceleague.org/san-antonio. To be considered, the application must be postmarked no later than Friday, March 31, 2017, and sent to Assistance League of San Antonio, Scholarship Chairman, Box 13130, San Antonio, TX 78201.
