Providing Special Friends With Special Dreams

Project Angel Fares, a San Antonio based 501c3 nonprofit charity established five years ago, serves families with children who have special needs. As part of their outreach, Project Angel Fares transports families from across the state, and even the country, to San Antonio so that they can play and experience Morgan’s Wonderland and Inspiration Island, all expenses paid.
Forging a partnership with Morgan’s Wonderland in 2012, founders Kevin and Melissa Johnson wanted to make sure that children and families who otherwise would not be able to afford the trip could experience a fun-filled, “inclusive” vacation for the entire family at the world’s only 100 percent handicap accessible theme park, without the worries of any financial burden.
Project Angel Fares provides airfare, vehicle or accessible van rental, lodging for three nights, meal gift cards, park entry fees for Morgan’s Wonderland and Inspiration Island, as well as SeaWorld or the San Antonio Zoo, and other incidentals as required.
Project Angel Fares funding comes through individual and corporate donors. They host three fundraising events each year, a Charity Golf Classic scheduled for April 18, 2018 at Canyon Springs Golf Club; a family friendly, team building bowling event in July; and a 5k Beer, Run and Walk event in the fall.
Since their founding, Project Angel Fares has served 67 families from 24 states and they predict to welcome 25 more to the Alamo City in 2018.
