It was a beautiful day on Saturday, October 3rd. The Reagan Cheer team set up in the Rattlers Den and greeted 173 participants for what would turn out to be the best clinic ever.
The new recruits showed up in their bows and t-shirts from past years’ clinics so we knew we were in for something special. They included a good mix of cuties from Stone Oak, Hardy Oak, Wilderness Oak, Canyon Ridge, Tuscany Heights, Vineyard Ranch, and Las Lomas Elementary Schools; Lopez and Bush Middle Schools; and Reagan High School along with a few from other surrounding schools.
The Reagan cheerleaders worked with grade-level groups to teach the girls cheers, motions and how to lead a crowd. After lunch, the participants showed their parents from the Rattlers Den stage that they were ready to cheer at that night’s game. Heard in the parking lot afterwards were lots of excited conversations about new friends, bows and signing up for cheer class.
As kickoff for the Stone Oak Superbowl neared, the stands filled with cheer clinic cheerleaders and their families. The grade level groups took turns on the sidelines cheering their hearts out for the Rattlers. A fan favorite was a cheer the newly-minted cheerleaders made up on their own. They really needed them in what was a tough game and they’re sure they made the difference for another Reagan win.
They appreciate all of the clinic participants and their families for spending the day with us. Special thanks go out to their sponsors and Alamo Sports Photography for their support in making the clinic a success.
Please join they Reagan Cheer team again at next year’s clinic and at all of the Rattler sports events.
