The Reagan Band and Color Guard have been working hard on their competition show, called “Every(One)”, since the end of July, and that work paid off! On October 3rd, the Band and Color Guard, along with members of our Reagan Dance teams travelled to the Houston Area for BOA (Bands of America) Conroe Regional Championship. They performed to a large audience along with 31 other bands from around the state, placing 2nd in their class and winning Outstanding General Effect after preliminaries.
The Reagan Band, along with 9 other bands, advanced to the finals where they wowed the audience and judges once again. They finished the evening tying for the caption of Outstanding Visual Performance with Johnson High School, won Outstanding General Effect again and placed 1st overall! Reagan has not won a regional BOA competition since 2006, so this was a great accomplishment! On October 10th, the group headed out for a competition again, this time in Austin at the Texas Marching Classic. Once again, they put on two spectacular performances, capturing several caption titles in prelims and finals and placing 1st overall out of 25 bands.
Their marching season wrapped up on October 30th and 31st at the BOA San Antonio Super Regional, where Reagan competed against over 60 bands. This is one of the most competitive marching band contests in the country. They won the caption of Outstanding Visual Performance, placed second in their class in the preliminaries and were one of 14 bands performing in the finals. After putting on an amazing finals run, they again won the title of Outstanding Visual Performance and placed 2nd overall, the best the band has done since 2005! Truly an amazing season and experience for the Reagan Band and all those that were involved!
