Roan Forest Hosts Family Math And Science Night

On March 6, 2018, Roan Forest Elementary held its first Family Math and Science Night. Each grade level organized and presented several activities so that students and their families could work together to explore and experience the math and science curriculum.
“Math and science have become areas we rely on like never before!” explained Lisa Watson, Gifted and Talented Teacher at Roan Forest. “Without them, technology and innovation will not continue its course in helping advance communication, health issues, and making sense of our world.”
During Math and Science Night, students also displayed their outstanding leadership skills through developing and implementing each activity. From planting tomato seeds to playing strategic multiplication games, there was something for everyone to engage in.
Parents truly enjoyed seeing the curriculum come to life as well as students and teachers working together outside of school hours,” said Watson. “Parents cannot wait for this successful event to come around again next year.
