Wilderness Oak Elementary teachers Suzanne Horan and Nancy Whitehead were recently awarded a grant from the North East Educational Foundation (NEEF) in the amount of $3,500. The money will be used to purchase varied leveled reading books of all genres for students in grades K- 5.
Wilderness Oak would like to continue its strong reading program with updated and high interest materials that will stimulate and challenge all levels of readers through small group instruction and literacy circles. Teachers are anxious to start purchasing books for their classroom, and thanks to this generous grant, Wilderness Oak students will all benefit from the NEEF’s generosity.
NEEF is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable corporation that was chartered in 1986.
