Dear Neighbors, The Stone Oak Business Association and the Stone Oak Community Optimist Club will continue a great tradition for the Stone Oak community by coordinating the Fifth Annual Stone Oak Winter Festival. It will be an event for families to come and enjoy and bring in the Holiday Spirit. The event brings the community together for fun, food, fellowship, and most importantly to contribute toys to be given to a local organization for the benefit of San Antonio children. In four years we have become the largest toy drive for Toys For Tots. We collected an estimated 12,000 toys which were given to less fortunate children in San Antonio. We are looking to the business community to continue their support through different levels of sponsorship. Every year we work closely with the schools in the area who contribute to the event with toys and their participation from singing, playing instruments and dancing. We will coordinate the event on two adjacent properties. Last year we had 100 booths selling food, merchandise, clothing, jewelry, etc. Santa will be back visiting to have his picture taken with children and snow will be brought in for all to enjoy. At the end of the event, we will have grand prize drawings and the festivities will reach its pinnacle with a Tree Lighting Ceremony. This year's event takes place at 21045 Crescent Oak at Stone Oak Elementary and the adjacent property, The Laurels. This year we will continue to have carnival rides for children of all ages to enjoy, games, food, shopping and over 45,000 pounds of SNOW! For every toy donated a child receives a FREE photo with Santa, a FREE horse drawn carriage ride and a FREE slide ride. Also, five raffle tickets will be given for a chance to win general prize drawings and one ticket to the Grand Prize Drawing to take place at the Tree Lighting Ceremony. This event will take place Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Knights Cross and Crescent Oaks from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm. We look forward to your participation.
Sincerely,
Gina Groomer
